Tracy & Tom's Classic New York City Wedding

Tracy & Tom’s wedding is one that is so special to us for so many reason’s (which is probably why it took us a while to find the words to write their blog post!).

Tracy and Lynds have known each other for over a decade. We were both a part of the close-nit student athletes at Binghamton University in upstate New York where we did our undergraduate degrees. Tracy was a badass lacrosse player, and I remember us meeting at my first recruiting trip when I was still in high school!

We have stayed in touch over the years through our mutual love of travel and cats. It has been so fun watching her and Tom’s love grow from dating into engagement into marriage. When they first got engaged, Tracy and I initially spoke about planning their honeymoon. That conversation eventually led into wedding photography and what do you know, Geoff and I booked our first wedding over 3,000 miles away from our home in Southern California.

This was our first cross-country wedding and a huge (and fun) learning process. From figuring out meetings and scheduling with a 3-hour time difference, to working in a different culture of the wedding community, Tracy & Tom were basically dream clients and could not have been more amazing to work with from the very beginning.

We started with a little engagement shoot (which you can find here) that ended with the most spectacular sunset of all time and a bomb dinner at Tracy & Tom’s favorite neighborhood restaurant. We laughed, told stories about our kitties, spoke about our favorite places to travel, and got all the juicy details about their big day, which was to be one heck of a party.

A few weeks later we headed back to the big city for their wedding weekend. It was warm and there was an excited energy in the air that only arrives in early summer. Tracy and Tom’s wedding day occurred within a few-block radius on the west side of Central park. Tracy wore a jaw-dropping gown by Lela Rose and her girls wore perfectly mix-matched dresses by BHLDN. They got ready at the hip and trendy Hudson Hotel, which was just a block away from the spectacular Church of St. Paul the Apostle, where they said their I-do’s. After a lovely send-off from the entire wedding party and guests, we headed down the street for bridal portraits in Columbus Circle. Before we could get there, we were stopped by countless New Yorkers wishing Tracy & Tom all the love and congratulations. One nice lady even offered to get us in to her buildings' garden, which we later found out was the largest private garden in all of Manhattan. Honestly, it was such a universe-aligning thing and something that only happens with amazing humans like Tracy & Tom.

After some heart-felt photos of the newly married couple, we headed into their rager of a wedding reception at the newly remodeled, Ascent Lounge. Tracy & Tom did it their way with a cocktail-style, informal reception overlooking Central Park and Columbus Circle. They had all their favorite foods served up throughout the night, from sushi, to crab legs, to sliders, mac’n’cheese, donuts, and beyond. Tearful toasts were said, Billy Joel was played, and a DJ spun while the entire wedding party and guests danced the night away.

It was a wedding for the story books and we are so incredibly grateful we got to be a part of the celebrations!! We love you, Tracy & Tom!!
