Can’t believe it’s been a whole week since we welcomed our precious little girl into the world! Meet Finnley Grace Thornton, born on March 9th, 2019 at exactly 11pm after 2 days of painful, intense, all natural labor.
My birth experience was nothing short of magic; every extreme of physical sensation and emotion a human can go through. From puking to uncontrollable shaking to tearing, my body has certainly never come close to what it went through bringing our babe into the world. But, I’ve never felt stronger or more proud of myself as a woman and can’t wait to tell Finn all about it one day. The icing on the cake was Geoff getting to deliver her and put her right on my chest!
Could not have come close to having the experience I did without my incredible support team - my hubby, mama and midwife lifted me up in ways I couldn’t have imagined and were my cheerleaders when I literally didn’t think I was going to make it. Love you both so much @geoff_thornton @jhworthi and not enough incredible things to say about my midwife, Brooke, who was with me for most of active labor coaching me through every contraction and push. I’m such a lucky mama!
Geoff and I have been sinking into the wild ride of parenting this week and finding joy in every little moment - even Geoff getting peed and pooped on during diaper changes 😂
We’ve waited a long time for this little girl and can’t believe she is finally with us! We are just so in love, it’s indescribable.
Also, thanks to all our sweet friends and family that have checked in with us over the last few weeks, I’m still getting back to messages but have read every single word of support and it means so much to all 3 of us!!
